Guru Purnima

Yasya deve para bhaktir yatha deve tatha gurau

Tasyaite kathitaa hi arthaaha prakashante mahatmanaha

The word guru comes from the two Sanskrit words gu+ru. Gu means ignorance or darkness and 'ru' means the removal of darkness. Gurus are named so because they remove the darkness from our lives by teaching us the right things and showing us the right path. He is the person who helps us to enlighten ourselves and guides to lead a prosperous life. India is the only country where Gurus are praised and where there are a large number of followers and disciples. Gurus have existed since ancient times and continue to be a part of our lives. Guru is not only a physical form but also a type of energy through which knowledge is transmitted to individuals. There is an aura that can only be felt in the presence of Guru. A Guru can be our parent, our life guide and the source of our mental peace. The festival of Guru Purnima is celebrated with much gust and galore in Abhyasa. The day began with Nagara Sankeerthana

As a part of Guru poornima, students of Abhyasa Residential School distributed food to the underprivileged people of Toopran. Students of the school realised social responsibilities through this programme. The programme was initiated by team Rural Service of Abhyasa.
