ONAM Celebrations at Abhyasa on 11th September 2019

Onam, the harvest festival of kerala falling on the shravan Poornima day coupled with sravanam star is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the world, wherever keralites have made their homes. As a result, it is celebrated by everybody, by people of all religions and races these days.

Abhyasa School, which strives to inculcate the cultural values of the country in the minds of the youngsters never, fails to celebrate any festival. The competition in flower arrangement [ Pookkalam ] was conducted on the campus and children of the three houses of the main school, children of Alingana and the teachers participated enthusiastically, and with unity. It was a great sight to see the boys and male teachers engaged in getting the flowers ready for arranging, while the girls and lady teachers got themselves busy drawing designs and arranging flowers in a colourful manner.

The Onam Sadhya served in the mess consisted of delicacies and sweet payasam. We are sure Mahabali would have visited Abhyasa, all the way from the nether world and enjoyed the creative floral designs made in Abhyasa.
