Field Trip on 16th August 2019 for VII Grade

Firstly we thank the School Management for providing the facility of field trip to the area where Rain Water Harvesting is done, Birla Museum and Shilparamam.

44 Students of 7th A & B along with the teachers- Incharge, Mrs. Manju, Mr. Rameshwar, Mr. Venkatadri and Mr. Murali Krishna started from school by 7:50 AM. We reached Rain Water Harvesting theme park by 9:45 AM. The theme park Manager Mr. Saraj came by 10:40 AM and started explaining the importance of Harvesting. Zodiac Park was another important spot of this park. He explained how water can be stored and purified on a large scale and also at homes.

There was a half-an-hour short film on how Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supplies and Sewage Board collects the water into large tanks. Then different stages of purification and how water reaches different areas was clearly shown in the film. Also two short videos of Chota Bheem and the importance of water attracted the attention of the children. The highlight of this visit was 'talking tree' and interaction with a robot Neno.

From there, we reached Birla museum by 1:15 PM. After lunch students were first taken to Mrs. Nirmala Birla collections located in the first floor, which were attractive. Then we went to Mechanics, Optics, Computers and Space sections. Students enjoyed all the mechanical activities and played with machines. They enjoyed the optical illusion of a skeleton and also musical instruments pendulum. Latest information block of chandrayaan 2 and its models were very informative and added to the existing knowledge.of the children.

Then students visited Dinosaurium where fossils Dinosaurs of 160 million years back were kept and the history was presented. The voice of Dinosaurs was an added attraction.

Finally by 4:15 PM, we reached Shilparamam at Uppal. After entering the premises, the students were a little depressed as there was nothing much to do. Then they planned to play KHO-KHO (boys vs. Girls). They enjoyed the game well. Some students enjoyed playing Kabaddi while a few others started listening to the fortune tellers with parrots. Later, they admired the beauty of waterfalls and played on the slides. They had a very good time in all the three places.

We reached the campus by 8:20 PM with all students safely and we really thank "God" for His blessing. Shankaranna was very co-operative and helped us throughout the journey.

The field trip was highly educative, informative as well as enjoyable. The children learnt some of the concepts by directly viewing them, out of school campus. It was a day off for them from school, but they gained more knowledge than from textbooks and class rooms.
