Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations

Krishna Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. Janmashtami festival was celebrated with great zeal and pomp by the Abhyasites. Dance-drama enactments on the life of Krishna, devotional singing and breaking an earthen pot containing curd famously known as 'Dahi Handi' were part of the Janmashtami celebrations at Abhyasa on 2nd September 2018.

Junior students dressed up as Krishna, Radha, Gopikas and other colorful outfits. They made and wore mukuts (head-gears) and decorated matkas(pots) & flutes. The senior school students decorated the Priyanka's Playpen colorfully with flowers, rangoli and even made a Krishna Jhoola for the little Krishna. A special assembly was conducted to mark the birth of the deity where songs and bhajans on Krishna were sung by the staff and the students. The entire Priyanka's Playpen was transformed into a land of joy, celebrations and happiness with glitter of lamps, fragrance of flowers, jingle of the bells and soothing aroma of prasadam. Later, in the Dahi handi breaking ceremony the staff and students of all the classes have participated and tried their best in breaking the pot & enjoyed a lot as a family. The celebrations ended with a sumptuous dinner in the school dining hall. The involvement of the students in the celebrations at such a tender age was worth applauding.
