Aptitude Test Procedures: Class XI (ISC)

Step I

Obtain an application form and prospectus either from the City office or from the campus. The Application form can also be downloaded from this website.

Step II

Register your child/ward for Aptitude test/interview, by submitting the filled-in application form and other documents (mentioned in the application form). The application form may be submitted by hand at the city office or the campus office or mailed to either of the offices by registered post –along with registration fee of Rs.500/-.

Step III

After registration, the school office will communicate with you for an Aptitude Test/Interview soon after the Class X result is declared. The students need to carry/produce provisional marks memo of Class X at the time of Aptitude Test/Interview.

Step IV

The Aptitude Test/Interviews will be conducted from the last week of May up to 3rd week of June depending upon the availability of seats. The Aptitude test will have an Oral component and Written component. Both the parents are required to accompany the child, a written letter of consent – declaring the parent's interest and willingness to admit his/her child to Abhyasa, after familiarizing with the system and philosophy of education of Abhyasa – should be produced at the time of interview.

Step V

Once the candidate qualifies in the Aptitude test/Interview, the parents will be given a letter of provisional admission on the same day. The parent/guardian is required to pay the necessary admission fee, caution deposit and first installment of school fee within one week on receipt of the admission letter. The note books and textbooks will be issued to the candidate at the school tuck shop on remittance of the first installment of school fee. The parents are also required to submit the original transfer certificate issued by the candidate's previous school.

Step VI

After completing the admission formalities, the candidate should report at the school campus on the date of reopening – mentioned in the admission letter. The parents should submit a medical history sheet of the child, which should be duly certified by a registered medical practitioner along with original Class X marks memo issued by the respective board. The candidate should bring all the list of articles mentioned in the prospectus / admission letter, along with him/her, at the time of joining the school. The articles brought will be enlisted in the dormitory register by the concerned house master / matron. The school will then issue and admission card to the parents / guardians of the candidate. This card should be furnished to the school security during parent visits. Please note that admission formalities are complete only after submitting the transfer certificate from the previous school and clearance/approval from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi.

Schedule for Candidates on the day of Aptitude Test / Interview:

9 am Students to report at the reception desk at Katya's Korner – The Academic Block.
9 am to 9:30 am Get escorted to the test venue.
9:30 am onwards Take up the Aptitude Test/Interview with the Vice Principal – Academics
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Lunch (at the School dining hall.)
2 pm to 6 pm Await results

Schedule for the Parents

9 am to 9:30 am Arrival at the Abhyasa Campus and report with your child/ward at the reception desk – Katya's Korner (Academic Block)
9:30 am Aptitude Test/Interview begins
10 am to 10:30am Refreshments followed by filling in a questionnaire by parents.
10:30 am to 12:30 pm Meeting with the Principal at ‘Priyanka's Play Pen' – the indoor stadium
1 pm to 2 pm Lunch (at the school dining hall.)
2 pm to 6 pm Announcement of results followed by interview of selected students and their parents with the Principal in his office.

Note:

  • Parents will be called in the order of the students' merit
  • Names of students not qualified will be announced by 4 pm
  • Parents of students, whose names are not called out i.e. not in the rejected list, need to stay on till their turn, to complete the preliminary formalities -not later than 6 pm.
