Abhinaya - The Dance Fest 2016

Dance and Music play a very important role in the overall development of a student along with studies. Dancing soothes and relaxes the minds of over-stressed school-children and at the same time educates the children and stimulates their concentration and creativity.

Abhinaya - The Dance Fest is an integral part of Abhyasa which is celebrated every year. Abhyasa gives an opportunity to its students to discover and hone their dancing skills and find their vocation in Indian Classical Dance. This year Abhinaya was celebrated on 31st January 2016 at its campus. Andhra Natya exponent Guru Kalakrishna Garu, a renowned Kuchipudi dancer both at national and international levels, was the Chief Guest for the evening. 75 students from across Classes IV to XII presented their skills in different forms of Indian Dances from different parts of the country such as Dandiya, Bengali Diya Dance, Rajasthani, Garbha, Bhangra & Gidda, Lavani, Koli, Goan and last but not the least a fusion dance comprising of Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and Mohiniyattam. Later all the 75 dancers joined together on the stage for a grand finale amidst a loud applause from the entire audience. The Chief Guest spoke about the origin of dancing and the different forms of dancing in a lucid way. He also showed some steps used in Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam. The Chief Guest was felicitated with shawl and memento by our CEO and Founder Director Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla for gracing the occasion. The program ended with singing the National Anthem.
