Gurubhyo Namaha...Teacher’s Day Celebrations

Gurubhyo Namaha...Teacher’s Day CelebrationsA teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the pupils. The wise teacher does not bid you to enter his house of wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. Such is the importance of a teacher in one’s life.

Gurubhyo Namaha...Teacher’s Day CelebrationsTeacher's Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a child. In India, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September every year. Indian Teacher’s Day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a zealous advocate of education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of India. Also, functions are organized in schools on the special day, where students present dance performances, dramas, and various other programs to entertain their teachers. This day provides for a healthy interaction between teachers and students as well.

As students, Abhyasites always identify the contribution of teachers in their life; they know well about the importance of their teachers at every milestone of their life. To pay tribute to their teachers, they have a showcased a beautiful programme for them on Teachers’ Day.

Gurubhyo Namaha...Teacher’s Day CelebrationsAbhyasa celebrates this day in a manner‐ both, traditional and modern. While celebrations begin with the traditional PaadaPooja (Ceremonious washing of the teacher’s feet) they end with the modern Ramp Show! All the teachers were cordially invited into the Play Pen and the Principal felicitated all the teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Principal was facilitated by all the staff members. Followed by the announcement of the “Favourite Teacher” awards that were given away to Mrs.V Vaani, Ms. Anasuya , Ms.Aravinda, Mr.Raveendran, Mr.Ram Raj, Mr.Dilip and Mr.Uday by the Principal. These names emerged after a poll was conducted for the students to elect their favourite teachers across classes, the previous day.

Students organized very good stress busters to all the teachers. “Show your power”, “Let us imitate” and “Ramp Walk” were some of the interesting programmes. A special lunch for all the teachers followed in the aesthetically decorated dining hall where they served all the teachers with great love and affection.

Later, the Principal spoke to all the teaching and the administrative staff and appreciated and encouraged them for their quality services and motivated them to rise higher in their professional life.
