the 23rd of November 2002
The 77th birthday of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was special
this year at Abhyasa because we listened to the divine discourse by
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, broadcast LIVE from Prashanthi Nilayam.
This was followed by bhajans, Narayana Seva, Pallaki seva, cultural
programme and Jhoola.
Sunday , the 24th of November 2002
An exhibition of the various models made by the students was displayed
on 24th November 2002 which coincided with parents visit. Featured
are some of the exhibits :-
Wednesday, the 27th of November 2002
All the Science teachers and a few representatives from classes five
to nine had the opportunity of visiting the National Science Exhibition
held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally, Hyderabad on Wednesday, 27th
November 2002.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)
organized the Jawaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition for children from
26th November to 1st December 2002. The main aim of the exhibition
was to develop well- defined abilites and skills such as spirit of
enquiry, creativity, objectivity etc.
This exhibition offers an opportunity for the student to express and
exchange their creative ideas and help them to learn the methods of
Science and develop their problem-solving skills and creative ability.
The Abhyasa team found the following models very interesting :
(a) Gharelu fridge - a fridge that functions without electricity.
(b) Poor man's cooker - based on the principle of non-conductors and
insolation.
(c) Waste water treatment plant that envisages the treatment of industrial
waste water to prevent any kind of environmental pollution.
(d) Hydrophonics
(e) Haemoglobinometer - an innovative device to estimate the percentage
of haemoglobin.
The team returned fully charged and we hope to see these young scientists
at Abhyasa in action soon. |
